BAF Achievements & Activities

Through the help of the Almighty God and through the generous contribution of the members of BAF, the foundation has been able to achieve the following in the past years:

  1. Sponsorship of five indigents students from JSS II through SSS III where they graduated and are now in the university.
  2. Sponsorship of three students presently in secondary school.
  3. BAF is sponsoring a student in primary school just for a session, Two students in the university are benefiting from BAF sponsorship programme, just for a session.
  4. Through the cooperation and support of Stitching Liliane Foundation with BAF, the foundation has sponsored twenty students with disabilities in the area of payment of tuition, hostel accommodation, purchase of school uniform, books and educational gadgets.

It is pertinent to know that other activities of BAF includes:

  • First Friday Mass: Holy Mass is offered on every first Friday of the month by Bishop Julius B. Adelakun for the intentions of BAF members and their families.
  • Annual BAF Lectures: BAF organizes lectures annually, interesting, thought provoking and relevant topic are discussed in order to enlighten people on how to contribute to the good of our society.
    Some of the topics includes:
  • The Nigeria Youth and the Quest for self-fulfillment by Prof. Richard Olaniyan, Nov, 2006.
    Sustainable / Good Education in Nigeria by Prof. Thomas Fasokun, Oct, 2009.
  • Good Family Living: Challenges and Threats in the Present Day in Nigeria by Gbade Adesola, Oct, 2010.
  • The Nigeria Family: Values, Challenges, and the Role of the Church by Prof. (Mrs) Elizabeth S. Ogunyemi, Nov, 2012.
  • The Response of the Church to the Family Institution in the World Today by Rev. Fr. John Oyejola (now Bishop John Oyejola), Nov, 2015.Many other interesting topics have been treated during the BAF annual lectures and almost all of them have been published as booklets.
  • Christmas Party for Widows and Widowers: BAF organizes Christmas party for widows and widowers. It is good to know that over two-hundred widows and widowers attend the Christmas party annually.
  • BAF Day Mass: 4th of November, the birthday of Bishop Julius B. Adelakun, has been chosen as BAF Day annual lecture is delivered on this day immediately after the celebration of the Holy Mass.
